Swansea City have completed the signing of free agent Andre Ayew after the Frenchman left Marseille on the expiry of his contract.
Ayew, who played for Ghana at the World Cup in Brazil, scored 10 goals for Marseille in Ligue 1 last season, in 28 appearances. He played with the club for a total of five years.
Garry Monk was keen to add to his side after a season which saw them break the record points total for a Swansea side in the top flight, not to mention league doubles over Arsenal and Manchester United.
Ayew signed his contract today and was presented with a shirt this afternoon as Swansea made another statement of intent towards a possible European place next season, and with this signing sealed, it’s the icing on the cake for Swans fans.
Ayew pens a four-year deal with the Welsh club after French Radio reported this morning that his medical was taking place and Swansea have shown they mean business in the Premier League for years to come.
