Monaco will reinforce their striking options for the remainder of the 2015/16 season by signing Vagner Love, according to Radio Monte Carlo.
With the French side lacking experience up front, they began a quest to find a new striker. Their search has led them to the 31-year-old Love, who is currently plying his trade with Corinthians in Brazil.
RMC report that his release clause is in the region of €1 million – €1.5 million, which is pittance for Monaco’s owner, Dmitry Rybolovlev.
However, Vagner Love and Monaco are yet to discuss any personal terms, though his salary should not prove to be too much of an issue.
Love has spent nine years of his career in Russia with CSKA Moscow. During that time, he scored 85 goals in 169 Russian Premier League appearances.
Meanwhile, he netted 14 goals in 30 Brazilian Serie A games throughout the 2015 season, firing Corinthians to their first title since 2011.
One thing is for certain, which is that love is in the air in Monaco this winter.
