Napoli are planning to raid Bayer Leverkusen for Christoph Kramer, reports Di Marzio.
Christian Guintoli, Napoli’s Sporting Director, is currently in Germany negotiating with the club over the deal.
Kramer, who won the World Cup with Germany in 2014, has his heart set on moving to the Serie A in the next step of his career.
The 24-year-old has only made 15 Bundesliga appearances for Leverkusen – with all of them coming this season, despite being promoted to the first-team back in 2011.
This is because he was sent out on a two-year loan to VfL Bochum, and then to Borussia Monchengladbach for a further two years.
He became a mainstay in Lucian Favre’s Gladbach side over the two years, racking up a total of 73 appearances in all competitions during his spell at Borussia-Park.
Napoli, who are currently top of Serie A, will pay a fee of €15 million for the talented midfielder. Should negotiations come to a standstill and the deal not go through, Bayer Leverkusen and Napoli will re-open discussions over a move in the summer.
