Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has asked the Club’s supporters ‘think a little first’ before speaking about Cristiano Ronaldo.

Portuguese winger Ronaldo, widely tipped by many as the world’s best footballer, grabbed a goal an assist for his side against Italian outfit Roma in their Champions League clash at the Bernebu yesterday evening.

Despite claims suggesting Ronaldo criticised his team-mates, Spanish defender Ramos came to the aid of the former Manchester United man.

Speaking to the MARCA, who have been quoted by the BBC, after their win last night, Ramos pleaded with the Madrid supporters, following negative comments about Ronaldo lately.

I respect the fans but when things don’t go well they should support their players.

I would tell the fans to think a little first. We all want the best for Real Madrid.

Ronaldo’s goal in front of the home crowd yesterday evening was his 40th goal of the season, and helped his side progress into the Quarter Finals stages of European’s elite competition.

The 31-year-old seemed to criticise his team’s peformance levels a few weeks back, but there’s no sign of that on the football field as, aswell as his goal, he grabbed himself assist by setting up James Rodriquez’s goal.
